The Art Interactive has been in development since 1999. Founders Emanuel Lewin and Irene Buchine, who together bring over forty years of experience in business, the arts, design, and public relations to the project, worked closely with both artists and members of the public interested in the establishment of a public-friendly art space. Technology art curator and organizer of the Boston Cyberarts Festival, George Fifield, is a member of the Art Interactive’s advisory board. He comments, “The Art Interactive is a great idea with committed people behind it. It will be a much-needed showcase for interactive and technological art, and the idea of a public-centric space should make it a fun, accessible place for showing new art.”

Other members of the AI’s arts advisory board include Joseph Ketner, Director of the Rose Art Museum in Waltham, MA and Kathryn Brew, curator at Eyebeam Atelier in NYC. The Art Interactive was incorporated in October of 2001. Four shows are planned per year.
